25 years ago I worked in the “Nutrition Department” in a hospital in Hamilton. What I did, in fact, was work on the assembly line in the kitchen that filled tray after tray with what I now know to be disease-inducing foods, thinking that we were in some way ‘helping people.’
When I read the article below, I was reminded about how often I saw the product ENSURE being added to the trays for those that were the most ill – thinking, at that time that it was helping people.
Then I got into the habit of actually READING the labels on food.
The same foods that are known to cause disease, and cause things like cancer to proliferate exponentially were being given to patients trying to overcome these very illnesses.
Luckily, that was 25 years ago, and we’ve come so much further that things must be different now, right? Wrong.
